Dear FoSN Community:
Every year, we look forward to sharing laughs, having fun, raising money, and making memories with our parent, guardian, teacher, and staff network at Starry Night. Given the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person component of Starry Night 2020, which was rescheduled for June 12th. This was a tough call to make -- Starry Night is an incredibly important event for FoSN and it’s one of our favorite ways to celebrate Skinner North -- but we must prioritize the health and safety of our community.
At the end of the day, we are thankful for you and what you bring to our community. We will come together again. Until that time, we're here for the kids, and we're here for each other. Let's all continue to reach out to one another and celebrate our amazing school, our awesome community, and each other.
In place of the in-person Starry Night event, we’re planning another online auction for Saturday, May 30th!
What will be in this online auction?
• Baskets valued at over $7,800
• Live Auction packages valued at over $5,000
• Priceless classroom art made by your kiddos
• Dart & Dine gift certificates
• Some beautiful artwork made by a SN parent
• Kindergarten memory books made by a Kinder parent
• A reserved parking spot in the lot attached to the school
How do I bid?
Registration on the Starry Night website is free and can be done in 2 minutes or less. Click here (https://one.bidpal.net/starrynight2020/welcome) and follow instructions to “Sign In.” Register now so you don’t miss out on the fun later! Please feel free to share the link with family and friends. If you registered for the last online auction or bought tickets to the in-person event, you are already registered. Items can be viewed on our bidding site now, and bidding will begin on May 28th, closing May 30th.
How will I get the items I win?
Distribution to be scheduled electronically, contactless pick up, or delivery in the weeks to come.
What happens to the Starry Night ticket I purchased?
We hope you will consider donating the cost of your now tax-deductible Starry Night ticket or Best-of-Live ticket, but realize that may not be an option for everyone given the circumstances. If you would like a refund, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What happens to the ticket I purchased for a Student/Parent Experience?
All Student/Teacher Experiences will be rescheduled in the fall semester. All Parent/Family Experiences will be rescheduled or will have a virtual option. Please look for an email with new details in the next week.
What about Mystery Boxes?!
The Mystery Boxes were a big hit! Teachers and staff members are drawing winning raffle tickets this week from their respective homes. Look for an email next week to watch a video of the raffle drawings, and find out if you won! Winners can pick up boxes at a “Tech Pick Up” time at the school.
What is FoSN paying for now that school is physically closed?
FoSN will pay for any necessary online classroom software, Zoom upgrades, physical teaching supplies teachers now need at home, student subscriptions, and technology needs for students, just to name a few. As more time is spent in a virtual environment, we expect teachers will need profess
