A note from Ms. Noecker:
Thank you again for all of your generosity. The iPads you've donated to our classroom have been a BIG hit - to say the least. Since the moment they arrived, the students have treasured the time they've had to use the iPads throughout the school day. The students take great pride in making sure the iPads are taken care of and, of course, fully charged!
My students use the iPads on a daily basis in our classroom. They are used each day in math and reading workshop to provide differentiated opportunities for practicing new skills. Additionally, the iPads are used as a resource to support struggling readers. Students are able to listen to audiobooks on the iPad, and they are also able to read differentiated eBooks online. Inquiry research for social studies, science, and writing projects has been a regular activity on the iPads, as well. Most recently, students used the iPads to type definition poems relating to the building blocks of success. Also, the students used the iPads to research Native American tribes that existed before Chicago.
Your gratitude has truly impacted our classroom in a very positive way. The students are able to share the iPads in small groups to support learning and to create projects. Through this experience, they are developing priceless collaboration skills, technology skills, and information processing skills. I look forward to watching the incredible third graders in my class continue grow and develop these skills as the year progresses. Thanks again for your kindness and gratitude. You're very appreciated by all of us.
