A Message from your Friends of Skinner North …
Happy New Year to all Skinner North families! It is always a very exciting time to start a new year and with this 2nd half of our school year commencing, it will pass by even quicker.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the support and commitment you have given our school and our organization. When we started the school year, we had this mantra in mind, that it will take “All Hands on Deck” to accomplish the goals we had set at the beginning of the year.
It has been an incredible experience to have the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing parents serving in our committees and the LSC. Each individual is vested in the success of our school, support of our teachers and administration and inclusion of all of our students.
The communication pieces on Facebook, fosn.net and newsletters, fundraising and service events, the efforts of our Diversity committee to reach out to all members of our multifaceted community, all the beautiful Artwork and posters we find in our school and the launch of a successful student run merchandise store, couldn’t have been accomplished without you.
We still have quite a road ahead this year and we have been working diligently to offer fundraising opportunities, as we will continue to need increase and maintain our funds in order to continue to be able to support our teachers with the resources they need to provide our students with the top notch education they receive at Skinner North.
Bridge the Gap is our annual campaign, where you can donate any amount towards our school, and we will also host our annual “Starry Night” event towards the end of the school year, which will offer auction items and a fun night out.
Additionally, there will be events like the 1st ever Skinner North Mattress Sale fundraiser in March and other opportunities where you can incorporate your daily tasks with raising money for our school. Needless to say, the many opportunities for you to come and help us set up, clean up, pick up, donate tennis balls, complete a survey and email us feedback about events, activities or initiatives.
Many of you have taken the mantra “All Hands on Deck” to heart and strengthened our community and our commitment to our school and our children.
Thank you for your time, your resources, your expertise and your feedback as all your contributions are greatly appreciated and noticed.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2018,
Vanessa, FoSN President
