Congrats to our first All-Girls Lego Robotics team, The Cistern Sisters, who competed last weekend at the Lego Robotics tournament hosted here at Skinner North (the first ever hosted by our school)!
Our girls team competed against 15 other teams from throughout Chicago for a chance to qualify for the state tournament. All teams were challenged to program their robots to complete various tasks, including flipping a 3 inch disc upside down, which was no small task! Our team had a great showing and qualified for the state tournament!
Kudos to The Cistern Sisters team below and to our Girls Team Leo Robotics coaches Andrea Christopher, Chris Williams & Theresa Walunas. Thank you also to the various parents who volunteered for last weekend’s Skinner North Lego Robotics competition and to Dave Garcia for his continued dedication to our Lego Robotics program!

Our Skinner North Lego Robotics teams are on a winning streak!
Last Saturday, our Skinner North Boys “Ninja Potatoes” Lego Robotics team the competed at the First Lego League Regional Robotics tournament at Horizon Science Academy against 15 other local CPS/private elementary schools. The theme for this year was hydro dynamics and all teams were judged on 4 categories: robot design presentation, project presentation, robot table performance & team spirit.
Our team had a great showing, winning the regional tournament & receiving 2 awards: the Robot Performance Award and the Champion’s Award!
With this win, our boys team has qualified for the State Championship and will join the Skinner North Girls Lego Robotics Team competing against some of the best robotics teams in Illinois!
Congrats to our Boys Lego Robotics team on a job well done! And a special thanks to Coaches Andrea Christopher, Fabian David, Dave Garcia & Linda Parsons for their patience and guidance!
