Fundraising Committee Updates

October 13, 2017

With the Walk-A-Thon right around the corner, we wanted to send a quick summary of FOSN's fundraising events for this upcoming school year. As FOSN is completely made of up parent volunteers, your help is critical to our success. Please reach out to Adriane Schwager, FOSN Fundraising Chair, at FosnFundraising@gmail.com with any new ideas or ways you may be able to contribute.

Walk-A-Thon - Every year in October, students walk/run laps to help fund raise. Donations are made through sponsorships and pledges. This year, FOSN Fundraising is partnering with the Wellness Committee to put on this fun event! Volunteer for set-up, during, and clean-up via this sign up link. Thank you to everyone who has participated thus far!

Bridge-the-Gap - In November, we'll kick off our Bridge-the-Gap campaign! Bridge-the-Gap is an annual pledge drive that allows families to make a tax-deductible donation to FOSN, which allows the administration to plan for the next academic year and meet our school's growing needs. The legacy of parent and community support through FOSN has been key to Skinner North's success, providing the funds we need for learning, laughter, and making memories. In the past, an anonymous donor has provided a match for our campaign. If you are considering this type of donation, please email FosnFundraising@gmail.com for more information.

Starry Night - Each spring, this event is held for parents and teachers to socialize, bid on exciting items, and celebrate our special school. This event takes A LOT of planning and volunteers. We'll be kicking off the planning on 10/23 from 8-8:30am in the Parent Room for a brainstorm and feedback session. If you can't make the meeting and have ideas/feedback, please email FosnFundraising@gmail.com. This event requires a venue, live and online auction items, catering, music, decorations, student art work coordination, wine toss, raffle items, classroom baskets - all pulled together by the parents. If you can lend a hand with planning any of these things, please let us know!

Kuma's Corner Gives Back to Skinner North - SAVE THE DATE - This year, we'll be partnering with a few businesses that will donate a percentage of sales back to Skinner North. Kuma's Corner, located at 852 W. Fulton, is going to donate 15% of their sales back to Skinner North for the entire day on Thursday, November 9th! Take your partner, coworkers, friends, and neighbors for lunch, dinner, or both! More details to come! Please talk to your favorite restaurants and see if they would be interested in participating in similar events.
